Soy Butter – Refined / Refined Source Oil
RidhSa Lipids Soy Butter – Refined / Refined Source Oil is a derived cosmetic butter formulated from refined soybean oil (Glycine max) and a documented lipid structuring system. As soybean oil is ordinarily liquid at room temperature, the butter texture is achieved through formulation rather than extraction of a naturally solid soy fat. Refined oil generally provides lighter colour and milder odour than virgin-source oil, while the final consistency depends on the selected structuring ingredients and processing. This butter supplies emollience and body in skin creams, balms, lotion bars, body butters and haircare products. Standard soybean oil is relatively unsaturated, so oxidation stability and storage should be considered. RidhSa Lipids recommends confirming the complete INCI, soybean oil percentage, GMO status if claimed, refining route, melting profile and batch specifications before publication.
Overview
| Botanical Name | Glycine max (L.) Merr. |
| Cas# | 8001-22-7 commonly identifies soybean oil; the finished structured butter requires its full composition and SDS identification. |
| Color | White to ivory or pale cream, depending on structuring system. |
| Method Of Extraction | Soybean oil is extracted and refined using documented operations as applicable, such as degumming, neutralization, bleaching and deodorization, then blended with identified structuring lipids and cooled. |
| Constituents | Soybean source oil contains triglycerides rich in linoleic and oleic acids, with palmitic, alpha-linolenic and stearic acids. High-oleic varieties differ. Finished butter also contains declared structuring lipids. |
| Solubility | Insoluble in water; miscible with compatible oils and melted fats; behaviour depends on the full blend. |
| Specific Gravity | No universal value for structured soy butter; measure the finished product at a stated temperature. |
| Flash Point | Not routinely determined for the finished blend;
Benefits
Emollient, provides glide and a conditioned skin feel, helps limit moisture loss, and adds adjustable firmness in solid and semi-solid formulations.
Uses
Body butters, balms, lotion bars, creams, soap formulations, massage bars and hair-conditioning products; confirm full INCI and finished-product suitability.
